Where were these moron protestors when Bush was spending 2 billion dollars a day on a pathetically failed war in Iraq, sending American servicemen to die for NOTHING against a boogeyman enemy who does not exist? OH, I guess that kind of spending is ok…

To a moron like the …
To a moron like the commentator, who thinks he is better and more intelligent than an old man who obviously never had the opportunity to have the education he has.=, is sad. Medicare is a failed system, as is any program the government has attempted to run…… same with social security…….. all socialist programs run by the government system…… you are a jerk… never served your country…you are the loafer…

You forgot other …
You forgot other social services: police departments, firefighting departments, public works, and libraries. Why don’t we shut them all down and see what happens! Your reasoning is pathetic.

These protesters …
These protesters have no real information. The man himself admits he gets his “facts” from conservative websites(not exactly a reputation for truth)

I doubt any of them have read a whole page of any bill in their lifetimes.

They should ask …
They should ask those protesters if they have even read the bill themselves, or are just believing what some other person has told them about it.

Thanks. Same to you. But what I said is exactly what this debate is actually about. The war on terror is no different from the war on healthcare.

The debate is over, …
The debate is over, not that people deserve to die if they are uninsured, but what exactly the collected tax money is to be spent on. The constitution, some would say, doesnt allow this, while others say it does. Thats a MAJOR debate that needs to be worked out first. As for me, i plan on stoping payments of a majority of my taxes for government spending, including the military, if a public option is defeated. BTW I think a private cooperative will probably be a good comprimise.

This bill sounded …
This bill sounded good when it first came out, but now that i hear more about it and listen to different sources it seems this has just become a christmas tree bill. These various riders that have been added to it basically denoted it as a bill.

We can not support …
We can not support this bill, and that is what is so about it. They wanted this to happen. They killed it by watering it down and making it useless, and no one is going to vote for a useless bill, that actually helps big insurance companies instead of doing what it was intended to do in the first place. Obama has let us down on this, and has shown no spine in forcing the hand of government to actually get things done. The dems and reps are both to blame.

thecellarlife:

Single-payer was …
Single-payer was completely taken off the table by the white house via a deal with big pharma from the get-go. Then the public option was watered down by Max Baccus and every other group that penned a version of this bill. Now the public option does nothing but provide the same prices as the private insurance companies, forcing no competition. The mandate is still intact but not forcing business to offer good health care, leaving those who do not like it, forced to keep it, or they pay a penalty

You are not even …
You are not even reading my comments. If you knew anything about the situation with this particular shot at health care reform, you’d completely agree with me. At the beginning it was looking good and if they had kept the original ideas intact, and in at least one of the versions of this bill, we’d be in good shape and I’d support it. The reality now is it’s going to do more harm than good. It doesn’t address any of the issues that it once did, and instead has been a big sellout to big pharma.

Spending, spending, …
Spending, spending, spending! I could understand if we were bickering over a 3 TRILLION dollar illegal/immoral/needless war, but we are talking about human lives! Our children, our Grandchildren. We should for sure all be in agreement. My understanding of the public option is that you would pay on a sliding scale.

Mainly, there needs …
Mainly, there needs to be strict control over the banks to keep something like this from happening again, which under current law, it most definitely will. Our government is doing nothing to fix that problem. They just threw money at it hoping we would forget about it, until the next time their friends steal a near trillion dollars from our pockets. Obama is not being strong enough to really change anything, and I hope that he will, but he hasn’t done much to prove he’s got the spine.
