And that’s a …
And that’s a beautiful thing, but it gives NO incentive for the insurance companies to LOWER HEALTH CARE COSTS, which is the MAJOR problem in our the CURRENT health care system. It also doesn’t help to have larger companies swallow up smaller one to have the situation we hav ein many states now where only a handful (some cases only 1 or 2) of companies are providing competition.
Maybe, Oh foolish …
Maybe, Oh foolish one, the Doctors would be less surly if they didn’t have to pay 90% of their salaries for malpractice insurance premiums when he hasn’t done anything wrong?
But it’ll be really great when the government takes over the hospitals and all the doctors leave the profession because they would now pay MORE in malpractice insurance premiums than the earn…yeah. Great. Go take out your OWN appendix, Anjimom.
We’re talking …
We’re talking Insurance here, not actual medical providers. the idea is to REMOVE the state requirements and force health care insurance companies to compete across state lines. Why do you think you have companies like Geiko running national ad campaigns and trying to undercut their competition, pricewise? because they CAN compete across state lines.
If you can insure your CAR with an out-of-state company to get better coverage at a lower price, why not health insurance?

Thanks for this. It made me feel a little better today about America.
Yeah we need to …
Yeah we need to save all our money so we can kill brown people for oil. Helping the people of this nation is just too expensive. Go ahead and die so we have money to bomb those rag heads.
Yeah…so? Look at …
Yeah…so? Look at all the people are doing now over this one little thing. Looking at all that and how long it’s taken, do you really think it’s that easy to change stuff? That it happens without time for people to complain?

6: Yes. They are …
6: Yes. They are for the benefit of corporations, AND THAT IS THE POINT! Regulations benefit big businesses and monopolies by giving them protection from competition! They do not help us!
7: Yes. Look it up. 8% Profit, 35% Tax.
8: Yes, we already have non-profits, but problem is not solved! Thus, HOW WOULD A GOVERNMENT “NON-PROFIT” SOLVE THIS? All the leading reformers claim it will be “just like a private non-profit”, so how would it help if that solution has already failed?
First two questions …
First two questions, fail to see relevance. No comment.
3: If they refuse to cover you on something that they have agreed to cover you on, then that is fraud, and SHOULD be covered under current laws.
4: Actually, yeah. You’re not forced to take your employer’s plan. In fact, tying your insurance to your work is a pretty bad idea in the first place.
5: The freedom of choice free from the ridiculous costs and inefficiency present in every Government monopoly.
If you get …
If you get seriously ill are you going to a homeopath or a real doctor? You may have a right to not be insured but are you going to pay out of pocket? How about the deductible and the 10% your policy doesn’t cover on that $1 M bill? Can you tell your employer, hey I don’t like this policy give me another? What freedom you talking about? The myriad regulations, subsidies, taxes aren’t for the benefit of these corporations? 35 and 8%? Oh really? “We already have non-profits” so problem solved?
“rammed down our …
“rammed down our throats now?”
Are we forced to get healthcare now?
Many would say “no,” but if you look, there are many aspects of Healthcare legislature that IS “rammed down our throats,” so you are correct in this assertion. There are plenty of healthcare subsidies, regulations, and taxation already.
Profit takes away 8% of the money from the money that an insurance company has to insure it’s customers.
The corporate tax takes away about 35%.
Which would effect healthcare costs more?
Single Payer option …
Single Payer option is bad because it will do nothing to help the situation. We already have non-profits.
It WILL require government subsidies, as their will be bureaucrats leaching profit off of it (almost always present with Government Programs), thus adding to our national debt. In this way, it is worse then the current system
I apologize for …
I apologize for lumping you with deathers and yahoos. I’m not presenting many facts but neither are you. I agree, non-profits aren’t great but neither are for-profits: pork-barrel, corrupt, dishonest accounting, bureaucratic, over-compensated CEOs etc. 3200 does little to clean up the mess. Don’t worry, they’ll water down the public option. I ask, how is single payer universal care worse than what is rammed down our throats now? How can you have a “free market” solution with peoples’ lives?
